In 2018, the Cooperathon continues to grow in Canada with only one objective: develop more projects with social impact! This year, in addition to a new Energy/Environment theme promoted by our partners at Hydro-Québec, expanding our national presence throughout various regions in Quebec and Ontario is one of our mandates.
From Quebec City to Toronto, Shawinigan, Sherbrooke and Ottawa, and in collaboration with our exceptional local partners, we look forward to meeting entrepreneurs and innovators to offer the most exceptional experience of the largest open innovation competition in the world. Each project, from idea to prototype, can compete for a total of over $100,000 in prizes and support.

CATEGORIES & AWARDS
Above all else, participating in the Cooperathon is about the journey. For 25 days, we offer participants training workshops and personalized follow-ups by our partners to accelerate their innovative projects.
Designed into 5 sprints, this contest was inspired by the popular Google Design Sprint. The program was adapted around work schedules with general activities on Saturdays and specialized workshops weekday evenings. These dozens of hours of training are optional, but strongly recommended! This journey is at the heart of the Cooperathon experience where the most innovative projects and inspiring teams are built. The Cooperathon is a unique event for people and organizations who believe cooperation, innovation, and entrepreneurship can make a positive difference in the world.
Sprint 0 is based on the Social mixology event of Wednesday September 26. The purpose is to finalize your team by recruiting new members from the community.
Étape dédiée à approfondir la compréhension de la problématique et à démarrer la phase d’idéation afin de trouver la solution ayant le plus d’impact.
Sprint 2 is where business models and solutions are designed. These should be sustainable and impart the highest possible social impact.
Sprint 3 is where the prototypes are built and validated to demonstrate their viability.
Sprint 4 is the preparation for the ultimate pitch to be delivered at the semi-finals. Finalists are announced at the end of October and will be invited to the finals.
