Many startups commercialize products that can transform entire industries, and for many of them, social impact awareness is minor, or comes during a maturity phase.

As part of the Cooperathon approach, we would like to contribute to the development of sustainable startups that have social impact at the heart of their business model.

Goal

  • Familiarize yourself with impact measurement and add social value to your business model.
  • Join a discovery journey, learn and pitch on the social impact of your startup (linked to your values and potentially aligned with a cause you care about).

What’s in it for me, startup ?

For participants

  • Better understand what impact measurement entails, the added value it can bring to your business model, and how to evaluate it accurately. More and more in B2B deals, companies chose their suppliers on broader factors than profitability, and that includes responsibility and sustainability. We however know that startups often lack the time, scale, resources and tools to develop such a measurement process. Throughout this Coopérathon track, we would like to offer you the time, space and guidance to better plan, measure and share the impact your business is having in society.
  • Discover, spread and pitch how the use of your innovative product or solution contributes to creating positive impact, linked to your values and aligned with causes you care about.
  • Use this opportunity to improve your “storytelling” and help your commercialization strategy. Build ties with the Desjardins Lab team, the Desjardins ecosystem and Cooperathon partners; who knows… there might be some interesting outcomes for you !

For finalists

  • Pitch in front of more than 500 selected business and community leaders of Quebec, potential clients, and support partners who can help you in this journey to bring impact at the core of your business model.

For winners

  • Win a trip and bootcamp “globalize your business development”: in Silicon Valley with Plug and Play, supported by our partner Flinks; or in Lyon with CIC.

Evaluation

  • Efficient and impactful incorporation of social values into your business model: what impact is your company generating and how will you measure it?
  • Feasibility and fit of the solution pitched, evolution of the value proposition, as well as the relevance and quality of your innovative product/service to solve a societal challenge.
  • Delivery and quality of the pitch.
